San Luis Obispo County needs to tighten our financial belts and cut costs. We need some common sense on the Board. “Having been a business owner, along with giving business and legal advice to clients for over 30 years, uniquely qualifies me to provide that common sense and leadership which our county so desperately needs in these difficult times. Listening to and considering both sides of every issue will be my hallmark,” Zimmerman stated.

About Your Candidate. Mike Zimmerman’s campaign for the 4th District Supervisor seat is off to a running start. After a joyous Christmas season, the Zimmerman Camp, with an army of volunteers, is launching a stellar take off for the Election on June 8, 2010. Mike’s strong conservative values, considerable knowledge, and his fervent commitment to the South County make him the best suited candidate for the supervisory position.
Mike is a pillar in the South County Community. He has established his reputation based on Honesty, Ethical Business Practices and Conservative Morals. As a long-time rancher and business owner, Mike Zimmerman strongly connects with South Countyresidents. His concern regarding The South County's water supply, individual property rights, improving traffic circulation, protecting agriculture, and making government less intrusive into the lives of its citizens are of the utmost importance to him.
After graduating from Cal Poly School of Agriculture in 1975 and Western State University School of Law 1978, Mike joined his father in-law, Andrew David (1922-2008) as a partner at the family law firm in Arroyo Grande.
Mike is a dedicated family man. He has been married to his wife Joan for 36 years and together they have eight children and three grandchildren. He is a past volunteer fire fighter, having served in the Arroyo Grande Fire Department for many years. Mike has also served on many boards, including Camp Fire Girls, San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, Central Rehabilitation Clinic, the Bioethics Committee for Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and Church Boards. Mike is very passionate about his faith; he is a long time church leader and currently attends the City Church in Nipomo.
